British Man Arrested Over Terrorism Charges Returns to UK
Kristofer Thomas Kearney, 37, a British national living in Alicante, Spain, is set to face the Old Bailey on Friday, 30 September. He stands charged with two counts of disseminating terrorist publications under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Spanish Police Nabbed Kearney in Anti-Terror Raid
Kearney was arrested at his Alicante home by Spanish police on 2 March 2022. The arrest stemmed from a warrant issued under the Trade and Co-operation Agreement, obtained by the UK’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Extradited and Remanded in Custody
On 8 September, Kearney was extradited from Spain. As he landed back in the UK, counter-terrorism officers detained him immediately. He was charged that evening and appeared at a magistrates’ court the next day. He remains in custody awaiting trial.
Investigation Tied to Far-Right Extremism
The probe focuses on extreme right-wing terrorism, with authorities taking the case very seriously.
