20 Aid Trucks Still Stuck Outside Gaza as Crisis Deepens

A convoy of 20 trucks carrying vital aid to the Gaza Strip remains stalled at the Rafah crossing from Egypt, a UN official has confirmed. UN spokesperson Eri Kaneko said they hope the supplies will finally enter Gaza the next day.

Only 54 Trucks Get Through So Far — ‘Drop in Ocean of Need’

Since Saturday, just 54 trucks have managed to deliver food, medicine, and water into Gaza. But UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres slammed the effort as “a drop of aid in an ocean of need” for the 2.2 million residents trapped in the war-torn territory.

Gaza faces a massive internal displacement crisis, with 1.4 million already uprooted following Israeli evacuation orders in mid-October.

Fuel Shortages Threaten UN Operations

The UN warned fuel supplies are critical to keep relief efforts running. They cautioned that humanitarian operations risk shutting down by the end of the following day if more fuel doesn’t arrive.

Right now, nearly 590,000 desperate people cram into 150 emergency shelters, mostly UN-run schools. These shelters are bursting at double their intended capacity, raising serious overcrowding concerns.

Israeli Forces Hunt Terror Cells Amid Tensions

Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces say they struck a “terrorist cell” trying to sneak into Israeli territory. Searches are ongoing on land, while naval units reportedly stopped a Hamas diver squad attempting a sea infiltration.

The tense and deadly situation only highlights the urgent need for continuous humanitarian aid and a diplomatic solution to ease the crisis for Gaza’s people.
