IDF Orders Mass Evacuation in Southern Lebanon Amid Hezbollah Clash
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have issued an urgent evacuation order for residents in 21 villages across southern Lebanon. Locals must move north of the Awali River immediately and are banned from heading south. This drastic move comes as part of Israel’s escalating campaign against Hezbollah.
Military Warns Civilians to Flee Danger Zones
Israel’s military spokesman Avichay Adraee made a blunt appeal: “The IDF has no intention of harming you. To ensure your own safety, you must evacuate without delay.” He warned that anyone staying near Hezbollah fighters, weapons, or facilities is risking their life.
Several areas in southern Lebanon have been hit with evacuation orders since Israel launched its ground offensive, signalling a fierce and widening conflict.
Netanyahu Demands UN Peacekeepers Quit Hezbollah Territory
In a bold move, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the United Nations to pull its peacekeepers out of Lebanon’s so-called “danger zone.” The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), deployed since 1978, now finds itself caught in the crossfire.
“Your refusal to evacuate the UNIFIL soldiers makes them hostages of Hezbollah. It is time for you to remove UNIFIL from Hezbollah’s strongholds and from the fighting areas,” Netanyahu told UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The escalating tensions signal a hardening stance as Israel intensifies its operations against Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon.
