Fisher-Price Issues Urgent Recall Over Choking Risk

Fisher-Price has launched an immediate recall of its “Little People Mickey & Friends Figure Pack” after safety fears emerged. The spotlight is on the Donald Duck and Daisy Duck figures, which pose a potential choking hazard to young children.

Which Toys Are Unsafe?

The recall affects only the Donald and Daisy Duck plastic figurines from model number HPJ88 (barcode 0194735160594). These toys were made in China as part of the Disney-themed pack. Other characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto are safe and not included in the recall.

Spot the Danger: Description of Recalled Figures

  • Donald Duck: About 7cm tall, dressed in a blue shirt with thin yellow stripes, a blue and black hat, and a red bow tie.
  • Daisy Duck: Similar size, wears a light purple shirt, turquoise necklace and bracelet, pink shoes, and a pink hair bow.

Both figures have outstretched arms, but the main risk lies in the detachable heads, which could come off and be swallowed by toddlers.

Safety Warnings and What to Do

Safety regulators confirm the figures don’t meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 standards. There’s a serious risk a young child could choke on a loose head.

“Parents and caregivers must stop using the Donald and Daisy Duck figures immediately and keep them away from children.”

Fisher-Price urges anyone who owns the recalled figures to visit Mattel’s recall page for full instructions on returns and refunds.
