UK Slaps New Quarantine Rules on Denmark Returnees
UK nationals and residents can now return from Denmark—but there’s a catch. They, along with their households, must self-isolate for 14 days. This stark update comes just a day after previous regulations were introduced.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps sprung the news on Twitter shortly after 2am, less than two hours before the new rules kicked in. He said: “This decision to act quickly follows on from health authorities in Denmark reporting widespread outbreaks of 1 in mink farms. Keeping the UK public safe remains our top priority.”
Officials will reach out to anyone in the UK who’s visited Denmark in the last two weeks to ensure they self-isolate too.

France is one week into its second lockdown aimed at curbing the virus spread. The restrictions will last until 1 December, allowing people to leave home only for work (if remote work isn’t possible), essential shopping, medical help, or one hour of exercise daily.
All non-essential shops, restaurants, and bars remain shut, but schools and creches stay open. A night curfew runs from 10pm to 6am nationwide.
