Life Support Withdrawn from Baby Indi After Legal Showdown
Life-support treatment has been pulled from eight-month-old Indi Gregory, the critically ill baby at the heart of a bitter legal battle. Christian Concern, a group backing her parents, confirmed the heartbreaking decision.
Indi’s Fight Against the Odds
Indi, diagnosed with a rare mitochondrial disease, has been on life support since her birth in February. Despite multiple UK court rulings demanding life support be stopped, her parents, Dean Gregory and Claire Staniforth, fought tooth and nail to keep her alive.
Emotional Transfer to Hospice Under Police Guard
After Indi stopped breathing one night but then recovered, she was transferred from Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre to a hospice. Reports say police security oversaw the move, with Indi calm and even sleeping during the tense journey.
Christian Legal Centre boss Andrea Williams called for prayers, saying:
“Dean and Claire remain by Indi’s side, watching over their precious daughter.”
High Court Blocks Life-Saving Treatment Abroad
Just weeks ago, a High Court judge refused permission for Indi to be taken to Italy for experimental treatment, dashing her parents’ hopes for a miracle overseas.
The family’s ordeal highlights the emotional and legal clashes surrounding life support decisions.
