Sunak Points Finger at Gaza Missile for Hospital Blast

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has dropped a bombshell in Parliament. British intelligence suggests the devastating explosion at Gaza’s Al-Ahli hospital was likely caused by a missile launched from inside Gaza, aimed at Israel. The missile or its parts tragically hit the hospital instead.

Sunak slammed the initial false claims blaming Israel, warning that such misreporting fuels regional unrest and undermines critical US diplomatic efforts.

Hamas and Israel Trade Blame Over Deadly Blast

Hamas-controlled authorities quickly blamed Israel for the strike, insisting it was a deliberate air raid. But Israel pushed back, presenting evidence that the blast was caused by a misfired Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket. The militant group denied any role.

Sunak Urges Caution and Strong Stance Against Hamas

During his Commons speech, Sunak called for careful diplomacy amid volatile conditions on the ground. He stressed the need for fresh investments in regional stability and the two-state solution. But he was clear: there can be “no scenario” in which Hamas is allowed to continue.

Sunak also revealed he’s in talks with world leaders to prevent the conflict from spiralling further.

Middle East Tumult and Global Parallels

The PM linked the 7 October Hamas attack to fears over shifting Middle East power balances, possibly tied to Arab nations warming up to Israel. He drew a striking parallel between Hamas’ terror tactics and Putin’s aggression in Ukraine, both rooted in desperate attempts to halt progress and democracy.

“Both Putin and Hamas will ultimately fail. Hope in humanity must prevail against terrorism,” Sunak declared.
