Fire At Burger King Southampton

A fire has broken out in the what is believed to be the ventilation System at Burger King in Southampton. Hampshire Fire and Rescue sent four appliances to the scene – two from St Mary’s, one from Redbridge and one from Romsey, while the aerial ladder platform from St Mary’s was used to tackle the blaze. Mark Buddon Station Manager from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services said, “ The Burger King venue had been evacuated prior to our arrival by staff after the fire alarm was raised.” He went on to say that at the height of the incident there were 30 firefighters tackling the blaze. Members of the public have described seeing smoke billowing from the roof area of the Burger bar in Above Bar Street. Damage is thought to be contained to the first floor of the restaurant.
