Man Dies After Fatal Collision On The M27 Near Portsmouth

A man left fighting for life following a serious road collision on a Hampshire motorway last weekend has died. The 20-year-old from Bitterne, Southampton, died on Wednesday, (June 29) as a result of the injuries he suffered during the collision on the M27 on Sunday (June 26) evening. He was the backseat passenger of a blue Vauxhall Corsa which was travelling eastbound on the M27 between Fareham and Portsmouth when it was involved in a collision at around 11.15pm. The 20-year-old driver of the car suffered serious injuries and he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital. He has since been discharged. A 19-year-old man, who was the front seat passenger, was cut free from the vehicle by our colleagues at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury. His condition is currently described as stable.
