Three Rescued After Purple BMW Plunges Down A3 Embankment

Emergency services raced to the A3 near Liss just after 5pm on January 8th after a purple BMW careered off the northbound carriageway and landed down a steep embankment.

Trapped Drivers Freed Using Specialist Cutting Gear

South Central Ambulance Service, Hampshire Fire and Rescue, and police arrived swiftly. The Hazardous Area Response Team joined the rescue with three ambulances and officers. A specialist support unit was also brought in from Cosham to cut open the vehicle and free the three trapped occupants.

A South Central Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: “Three people were removed from the vehicle with assistance from emergency teams and taken to hospital.”

Lane Closure Sparks Traffic Chaos on A3

One lane of the A3 remains closed as crews work to recover the car. Drivers heading north are facing heavy delays as traffic slows around the crash site near the steep marshes.
