Woman in Her 70s Crushed Under Bus in Shocking Greenhithe Crash

A pensioner has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a freak accident involving a bus in Greenhithe this afternoon. The woman, believed to be in her 70s and a local resident, was trapped under the bus on London Road just after 12.20pm on Thursday, November 30.

Fire Crews Lift Bus to Free Trapped Woman

Emergency services including police, paramedics, firefighters, and the Kent air ambulance quickly arrived at the scene. Firefighters used airbags to carefully lift the bus off the woman. She was then stabilised by doctors from the air ambulance before being transported by land ambulance to hospital.

Roads Closed as Police Investigate

Knockhall Chase and parts of London Road remain sealed off while police conduct a full investigation. Officers warned the closures could last for several hours as accident experts examine the scene.

“Officers were called at 12.20pm on Thursday 30 November 2017 to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus in Knockhall Chase, Greenhithe. Serious injuries have been reported. Emergency services are currently at the scene and a road closure is in place.”
