Second Arrest Made in Teen’s Fatal Walthamstow Shooting
Detectives hunting the killer of 16-year-old Amaan Shakoor have swooped again. A 19-year-old man was arrested early on Tuesday, 17 April, in east London on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as the probe heats up.
Investigation Urgently Needs Public Help
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes, leading the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, urged witnesses to speak up. “While it’s good we have made a second arrest, this is still an active investigation,” he said. “If you know who did this or even suspect something, please come forward. Help us bring justice for Amaan and make our streets safer for other young people.”
Tragic Shooting Shakes Community
- The tragedy unfolded on Monday, 2 April, around 10pm on Markhouse Road, E17, when shots rang out.
- Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were found wounded and rushed to hospital.
- The 15-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries.
- Amaan, shot in the head, tragically died the next day at 5.45pm, with family at his bedside.
- Post-mortem confirmed death by gunshot wound to the head.
Specialist officers are supporting Amaan’s grieving family, who ask for privacy during this heartbreaking time.
