Woman Dies After Horrific Crash in Chingford – Police Launch Appeal
Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a woman in her 30s was fatally injured in a shocking collision in Chingford.
Deadly Crash on Station Road
Emergency services were called to Station Road at 3am on Monday, 7 May, after a car struck a pedestrian. The woman was rushed to hospital by ambulance but tragically died from her injuries the following day, 8 May.
Driver Arrested Then Released
The driver, a 23-year-old man behind the wheel of a Ford Focus, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Formal identification of the victim has yet to take place, though next-of-kin have been informed. Officers at Chadwell Heath police station are keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision or has useful information. Call 020 8597 4874.
