Cyclist struck and killed by Lorry in Greenwich

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and information after a cyclist died following a collision with a lorry in Greenwich. Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday, 9 May, to reports of a lorry in collision with a cyclist in Romney Road, SE10. Officers attended the location along with LAS and London’s Air Ambulance. The 46-year-old male cyclist was taken to a south London hospital, where he died on Friday, 11 May. The man’s next of kin have been informed. Formal identification has not taken place. The driver and a passenger in the lorry were also treated. Their injuries were not serious. The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. He was not arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 020 8285 1574.
