Serious Crash Shuts Isle of Wight Road in Early Hours
Emergency services scrambled to Fairlee Road on the Isle of Wight just before 1am this morning following a serious collision.
Fairlee Road Closed for Hours
Hampshire Constabulary sealed off the stretch between Halberry Lane and the Medina Way slip road. Paramedics from the Island’s ambulance service rushed to the scene to assist.
Motorcyclist Seriously Injured
A motorcyclist smashed into a wall and was found with serious injuries. They were treated on-site before being rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
UPDATE: The road finally reopened shortly after 6am, clearing the way for traffic again. More details to follow.
