Sandown Man Remanded for Brutal Murder of 73-Year-Old Gerry White

Jonathan Stasiuk, 60, from Sandown, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today accused of murdering 73-year-old Gerry White. The victim, a former local councillor, was found dead in woodland at Lake Community Gardens on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.
Grim Discovery Shocks Local Community
The body of Gerry White was discovered by a dog walker, sparking a major police investigation. The scene at Lake Community Gardens was sealed off and guarded as officers carried out their inquiries into the brutal murder.
Stasiuk Remanded in Custody
Dressed in a grey sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms, Stasiuk confirmed his name and acknowledged the murder charge during a brief ten-minute hearing. He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to appear next at Winchester Crown Court on Monday, June 3.
