Urgent Hunt Underway for Missing Woman in Portobello
Police are stepping up their search for Alice Byrne, who vanished from Portobello on the morning of Saturday, 1 January. Officers are combing the area and reviewing CCTV footage as they race against time to find her.
Community Rallying to Help Find Alice
Chief Inspector Kieran Dougal praised locals for their support. “The community has been keen to back our ongoing enquiries to trace Alice,” he said. “We’re using specialist resources and continuing to review CCTV from around Portobello.”
He urged the public to stay safe. “We’ve had offers to help with searches, but it’s vital people don’t put themselves at risk or disrupt coordinated efforts.”

Alice was last seen wearing a black top, ripped black jeans, and white trainers. Police have released CCTV images showing her attire to aid identification.
