Police appeal after road rage attack near Buckingham Palace

Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in central London. Officers were called at approximately 8.15pm on Sunday, 11 August to reports of a woman injured in a collision with a car in Hyde Park Corner, SW1. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a woman, in her mid-40s, was taken to a central London hospital for treatment; her condition has been assessed as non life-threatening but may be life-changing. A 23-year-old man, the suspected driver of the Land Rover, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray; a Taser was discharged by officers during the arrest. The arrested man did not require hospital treatment and was taken into custody, he was later further arrested on suspicion of GBH and driving whilst disqualified. He remains in custody at a central London police station A second man, who complained of feeling unwell at the scene, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged, Enquiries into the circumstances continue. Any witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage, or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via Twitter @MetCC. Please quote CAD 6953/11Aug.
