Maidstone town centre was plunged into darkness this morning. A power cut struck the ME14 area, knocking out electricity across Bank Street and nearby roads.

Shoppers and locals faced chaos as Santander Bank went offline, with cash machines dead and no services available. The popular pub, The Bren Haley, was also hit hard—no breakfasts, no beers, no business.
Fix on the Way
UK Power Networks confirmed they are on the case. Engineers have been dispatched to fix a faulty piece of electrical equipment. The company aims to restore power by 1pm today.
