Manhunt Underway After Two Police Officers Hit by 4×4 in Camden
Detectives are hunting a driver who deliberately slammed a 4×4 into two police officers in Camden early Sunday. The attack happened just after 2.30am near Camden Market when officers tried to question a man reported to be carrying a knife.
Driver Rams Police and Flees the Scene
The suspect jumped into a white 4×4 and drove straight towards the officers, hitting them before speeding off down Adelaide Road towards Swiss Cottage. Despite the collision, both officers—men in their duty—survived with non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to a North London hospital and have since been discharged.
Suspect and Passengers Described
- Driver: Black male, about 6ft tall, beard, dressed in black with a beanie.
- Passengers: Two black females.
- One wore high heel black boots, a black leather jacket, and red skirt.
- The other was in dark clothing with a long skirt, black boots, and had her hair in a ponytail.
Police Urge Public to Help Find the Vehicle
Detective Sergeant Toby Reynolds stressed: “Finding this white 4×4 is at the heart of our investigation. It should have significant damage to the rear. If you spot anything matching this description, please tell us.”
BCU Commander for Camden and Islington Raj Kohli added: “Our officers face danger every day protecting Londoners. Tonight it was sheer luck the injuries weren’t worse. We urge anyone with info to come forward.”
