Sheerness Man Jailed for Horrific Threats Against Woman and Family
Almost 350 Threatening Calls in Three Weeks
Lewis Jacobs, 28, from Rosemary Avenue, Minster-on-Sea, has been locked up for two and a half years after bombarding a woman with nearly 350 phone calls in just three weeks. Between 7 and 28 March 2019, Jacobs sent a terrifying stream of threats, promising to kill the victim, petrol bomb her home, and even throw acid in her face.
Chilling Threats Against Family
But it didn’t stop there. Jacobs also warned he would send people to snatch her young son. Despite denying charges of harassment with fear of violence, he was found guilty at Medway Magistrates’ Court and sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on 16 January 2020.
Police Hit Back: Zero Tolerance on Harassment
“Jacob’s constant threats of violence have caused profound distress and fear to the family and left the courts with little choice but to impose a custodial sentence,” said PC Alexander Bailey of the Medway Vulnerability Investigation Team.
“I hope the outcome of this case will encourage anyone who feels they are the victim of harassment to come forward. We take this issue extremely seriously and will thoroughly investigate any reports of this nature to ensure victims are safeguarded and provided with the most appropriate advice and support.”
