Young Woman Stabbed in Newham Park Toilets

Detectives are hunting witnesses after a young woman was stabbed in Newham.

At 5.52pm on Monday, 17 February, police were called to Dore Avenue E12 following reports that a woman was found injured in the public toilets at Little Ilford Park.

Victim Seriously Hurt, Arrest Made

The victim, believed to be just 18, was rushed to hospital with stab wounds to her stomach and neck. Her condition remains serious.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently held at an east London police station.

Call for Witnesses

“This was a needlessly violent attack where a young woman has received stab wounds to her stomach and neck, and is seriously ill in hospital,” said Detective Inspector Jeremy McDermott of the Safeguarding Team North East Area.

“We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.”

Police continue to investigate how the injuries were sustained and urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
