A London Underground driver has tested positive for coronavirus, insiders reveal.

Transport for London confirmed the driver is self-isolating and receiving medical support following the diagnosis. Thankfully, the driver’s role doesn’t involve customer-facing duties, reducing the risk to passengers.

A TfL spokesperson said: “The safety of our staff and customers is our top priority and we are taking all necessary precautions.” The spokesperson added that thorough cleaning is happening at the North Greenwich depot and on the Jubilee Line trains, following Public Health England guidelines.
