Burglary Suspect Busted After Jewellery Heist in Gillingham
A thief has been charged following a brazen burglary at a Gillingham home. Cash and jewellery were stolen after the culprit smashed through the back door of a Maple Avenue house between 11:30am and 1:30pm on Wednesday, 15 January 2020.
Investigation Leads to Arrest
The Chief Constable’s Crime Squad launched a probe and arrested 41-year-old William Cassidy of Chancel Drive, Rochester, on 11 April. He faces one count of burglary after the stolen goods were taken and the property left in disarray.
Remanded in Custody Ahead of Court Dates
Cassidy was charged and remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 2 April. He was further remanded and is set to appear next at Maidstone Crown Court on 30 April.
