A 19-year-old man is to appear in crown court following an investigation by officers into drug dealing in Folkestone.

The charges come after officers from the Folkestone Community Policing Team (CPT) attended a property in The Parade in the town during the afternoon of Friday 3 April 2020, in response to reports of suspected drug dealing in the area.

A warrant was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act and wraps of crack cocaine and heroin were seized, along with a quantity of cash and a knife.

Four arrests were made, two of which were later released without charge.

A 19-year-old man from London arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine with intent to supply was released on bail until 1 May pending further enquiries.

Ange Gode, 19, of Flimwell Close, Bromley, was charged on Saturday 4 March with two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply, possession of cannabis, and possession of criminal property (money).

Mr Gode appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on the same day and was remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 4 May.

Sergeant Greg Pochin of Folkestone CPT said: ‘We continue to respond robustly to reports of county line drug supply across the district, proactively disrupting their criminal activity and bringing offenders to justice.

‘If you think you have seen suspicious activity in your street, perhaps a property has lots of visitors at all times of the day for example, we urge people to report it to police on 101 (999 if a crime is in progress), or via the Kent Police website.’
