Met officers deliver over 1,400 Easter eggs to children in hospitals across London

On Easter Monday (13 April), officers handed out over 1,400 Easter eggs to children’s wards at Great Ormond Street, St Thomas’, St George’s, St Mary’s and Kings College hospitals in London to help brighten up the children’s Easter weekends. Officers and staff from the Met’s Violent Crime Taskforce donated the Easter eggs and then, alongside officers from Operation Venice, delivered the eggs whilst out on patrol. Sergeant Dan Nelson, who organised ‘Operation Easter Smile’, said: “Many children in hospitals across London were sadly unable to spend time with their loved ones over the Easter weekend. “I hope this brought a smile to those children’s faces, and the hardworking NHS staff who are caring for them. “I would like to thank each and every one of my colleagues who were involved.”
