Man, 21, Charged with Camden Murder of 56-Year-Old

Abel Mery Berhany, 21, from Leyton Grange Estate, East London, was arrested on Tuesday, 28 July. He faces charges over the murder of 56-year-old Abraham Haile in Camden.

Court Appearances and Custody

Berhany appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 30 July and was immediately remanded in custody. He is set for another hearing on Monday, 3 August at the Old Bailey.

Crime Scene Details

Police and London Ambulance were called to Camden High Street at 10:09pm on Tuesday, 28 July following reports of a serious assault inside a commercial premises.

Officers found Mr Haile gravely injured. Despite urgent efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
