Detectives investigating the death of a man in Lewisham have charged a man as they continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

A 38-year-old man from Brockley, was arrested on Monday, 7 September on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. On Tuesday, 8 September he was charged with grievous bodily harm and was remanded in custody to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court that same day where he was remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, 7 October.

He has been bailed in connection with the allegation of murder pending further enquiries.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 05:33hrs on Sunday, 6 September to reports of an assault in Thornsbeach Road.

Sean Williams, aged 34, was found at the scene suffering a stab wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6.19am.

A 37-year-old man , self-presented at a south London hospital with a knife wound to the hand. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Officers believe that those involved in this incident had attended a silent disco at Culverley Road, SE6, during which, a fight had broken out between two men.
