Tragic Death of PC Chris Miller in Redbridge Crash
The Met Police are mourning the loss of PC Chris Miller, 35, who died in a collision on Woodford New Road, E17, while travelling to work on Tuesday morning, 15 September.
Commissioner Cressida Dick Pays Heartfelt Tribute
Commissioner Cressida Dick said: “I am very saddened to hear of the death of Chris Miller. Chris was an excellent and highly skilled police officer. He will be missed by many, especially those based at Ilford and Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection. My thoughts are particularly with Chris’s family and friends.”
PC Miller joined the Met in 2015 and served with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command since November 2019. The Met confirmed they will remember his valuable contribution to policing London.
Colleagues Remember a Dedicated Officer and Motorcycle Fan
Jane Johnson, Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Commander, added: “Chris was a police officer, a fitness fanatic and a motorcycle enthusiast. He joined the command last year and made an instant impact on those around him. Chris was committed to serving London, Parliament, and the diplomatic community.
“He had a strong sense of duty and was a loved and valued team member. He will be missed.”
Crash Investigation Underway
Police were called to Woodford New Road at 5:59am following a collision involving a motorbike. Despite paramedics’ efforts, PC Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving support from officers.
Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the tragic incident.
