Shameless Gang Snatches Gold Chain from Elderly Woman in Aldershot High Street

Three Women Target 70-Year-Old in Broad Daylight

Police are hunting three females after a brutal robbery on an elderly woman in Aldershot High Street. The incident happened between 1.45pm and 2.15pm on Saturday, September 19.

The victim, a Nepalese woman in her 70s, was sitting on the steps of the Buddhist Community Centre opposite the Citroen garage when two women approached her, asking for the time.

Distracted While Thief Strikes From Behind

As the two women distracted the elderly lady, a third suspect sneaked up from behind and ripped a gold chain from her neck. The chain snapped during the theft, and all three suspects quickly fled the scene.

Police Plea for Witnesses and Information

Detective Constable Sarah Down described the crime as “really callous” and urged anyone who was near the A323 High Street, Parsons Car Park, Ordnance Road, or Cassino Close around that time to come forward.

“We are asking anyone who saw the lady being approached by these three white women to get in touch. We don’t have detailed descriptions, so any information helps,” she said.

She also called on jewellers and pawnbrokers to be wary of anyone trying to sell a 24-carat broken gold chain.
