Leicestershire Man Jailed for Sexual Abuse of Teenage Girl
Tony Fraine Locked Up for 2 Years
A 37-year-old man from Leicester has been sentenced to 24 months behind bars for sexually abusing a teenage girl. Tony Fraine was handed the jail term today (Friday 2 October) at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty last month.
Abuse of Trust and Grooming Uncovered
Fraine admitted to abusing his position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 17 between October and November last year. He actively groomed the victim through emails and WhatsApp messages, sending indecent images of himself and touching her inappropriately.
Victim’s Friends Helped Expose Crime
The shocking abuse was uncovered after the victim’s friends spotted an inappropriate email on her phone and noticed she was acting secretive, often dimming her screen. Their tip-off led police to launch an investigation, arresting Fraine through the Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU).
Detective Urges Other Victims to Speak Out
“Fraine abused his position for his own sexual gratification,” said Detective Constable Aisling McPhillips. “The victim has shown great courage in coming forward, which allowed us to charge Fraine without her having to relive the trauma in court.”
“I believe there may be other victims out there. If so, we urge them to contact us. We have trained officers ready to support them through the investigation.”
