Met Police Smash Terror Funding Ring in Early Morning Raids
Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, backed by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, swooped at dawn today. Five warrants were executed across multiple locations: one in Luton, two in west London, one in Southend-on-Sea, and one in central London.
Three Men Nabbed Over Terror Funding
The raids led to the arrest of three men aged 34, 42, and 45. They are suspected of funding terrorism, a serious crime under section 17 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Custody and Bail Details
- All were arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
- Two remain in custody at a central London police station.
- The third was released on bail to appear later.
