Cash Machine Heist Shakes Thanet Service Station
Detectives are hunting crooks who ripped off a cash machine from a Shell garage on the A299 Thanet Way. The brazen theft took place just before 2am on Monday, March 1, 2021, at the Lychgate service station near Dargate.
CAT Digger Used in Smash-and-Grab Getaway
The gang used a CAT digger to rip the cash machine from its spot, leaving massive damage behind. They then loaded the machine onto a grey flatbed Ford Transit. Eyewitnesses say this vehicle sped off in convoy with a dark Mitsubishi Shogun.
Similar Attempt Linked in Dymchurch
Police believe this robbery is tied to a failed smash-and-grab at a Tesco Express in Dymchurch on Sunday, February 28, at about 2.15am. The crooks tried to steal a cash machine from the wall but had no luck.
