Tragic stabbing claims life of Fares
Police rushed to Barking Road at 3.56pm on Friday, 23 April, after reports of a stabbing. They found Fares suffering serious stab wounds. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after 4.30pm.
Seven males arrested over the killing
Six men were nabbed at a Leyton address on Tuesday, 27 April. They were taken to various East London police stations and are currently in custody. One faces suspicion of murder plus charges of possessing class A and B drugs with intent to supply. The other five were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and drug possession with intent to supply.
On the day of the attack, three boys aged 14 and 15 were also arrested. Two are suspected of murder, and one is linked to the incident. One teenager has since been charged with murder and carrying an offensive weapon and appeared in court at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 28 April.
