Teen Stabbed at Thornton Heath Station as Police Swarm Scene

Two teenagers have been arrested after a stabbing at Thornton Heath station last night. Dozens of police officers surrounded the station as a knife was recovered from the scene.

Ambulance Airlifted Victim from Iceland Car Park

An air ambulance landed in the Iceland car park near the station, where eyewitnesses saw the victim being stretchered off into the waiting crew. Paramedics worked urgently on the 15-year-old boy near the station entrance before rushing him to a major trauma centre. His injuries are serious but not believed life-threatening.

Heavy Police Presence and Ongoing Investigation

  • At least 30 officers were at the scene, including British Transport Police.
  • Two suspects, aged 16 and 18, were arrested and taken to custody for questioning.
  • A dog unit was deployed for searches on Liverpool Road, which was briefly cordoned off.

British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Thornton Heath station at 7.43pm on 8 May following a report of a stabbing. Paramedics attended and a 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital. Two young men were arrested at the scene in connection and a knife was recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Violent Crime Sparks Concern Amid London Mayor’s Victory

The stabbing incident comes as Sadiq Khan secured victory in the mayoral election, despite rising violent crime across the capital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:

“We were called at 7:22pm to reports of a person injured at Thornton Heath station. Multiple medical teams were dispatched, including London’s Air Ambulance. We treated the male at the scene and took him by road to a trauma centre.”
