Met Commander’s Grim Warning
“These results show our commitment to tackling violent crime head-on. By seizing so many knives, we’ve stopped countless potential stabbings,” said Commander Alex Murray, Met’s Violence Lead. “As summer approaches, cutting violence and saving lives remains our top policing priority. London’s recent violent incidents prove why operations like this matter. Our officers will keep patrolling every day, using every tactic to prevent crime.” “I urge Londoners to listen to the heart-breaking stories of five brave mums who lost their sons to knife crime. They’re begging people to call Crimestoppers with info, anonymously, to stop more needless deaths.”
