Prison for man who launched attack in search of drugs – UKNIP

A man who launched an attack during his search for drugs has been jailed. Ross Treby and Caroline Mulliez were looking to buy class A drugs when they came across a man parked up in Eltisley on 23 September last year (2020). As Mulliez went to the man’s car window, Treby appeared and started punching the man in the head. The 39-year-old victim attempted to start his car and drive off but Treby took the keys from him and got in the vehicle to continue the attack. He then dragged him from the car and made off with it. Officers traced Mulliez’s yellow Fiat Panda to her home in Gilpin Place, Cambridge, where they found the victim’s car keys and mobile phone inside. They then found the victim’s Renault Clio parked in her road with Treby’s DNA on a glove inside. At Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (24 May) Treby, 41, of Abercorn Place, Cambridge, was sentenced to 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to actual bodily harm, taking a vehicle without consent and theft. Mulliez, 48, was given a 12-month conditional discharge after pleading guilty to handling stolen goods. Detective Constable Luke Pedlar said: “Treby launched an unprovoked attack on the man who suffered a dislocated jaw and has been left psychologically affected by the incident. “Treby’s violent behaviour was completely unacceptable and I’m pleased he will serve time behind bars for his actions.”
