Double Murder Shakes Basingstoke in Early Hours
Police are hunting answers after a double murder rocked Basingstoke in the early hours of Sunday, 20 June. Officers were called to a home on Buckland Avenue where they found two victims with fatal injuries.
Man in 60s and Young Woman Dead at Scene
The victims—a man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s—were pronounced dead on arrival. Formal ID checks are still ongoing as police piece together what happened.
Arrest Made as Investigation Intensifies
A 52-year-old man was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Detective Superintendent Neil Corrigan commented:
“We understand this incident will come as a shock to the local community. Please be reassured that we have a number of officers working hard at the scene and the surrounding areas to establish the exact circumstances, and a man is in custody. We believe all parties involved in this incident were known to one another.”
