Man Pleads Guilty to Kilburn Stabbing Manslaughter
Chihab Saleh, 24, of Kilburn Square, Kilburn, appeared at Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, 5 August. He pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 37-year-old Peter Petrou, blaming diminished responsibility. Saleh also admitted possession of a bladed article.
Peter Petrou Fatally Stabbed in Kilburn High Road
Peter, a West Kilburn resident, was stabbed on 16 July 2020. Emergency services rushed to Kilburn High Road after reports of the attack. He was taken to a central London hospital but later died from his injuries.
Saleh Arrested and Charged With Multiple Offences
Saleh was arrested five days later on 21 July 2020. Initially charged with murder and several other offences, the court accepted his plea of manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.
Detective Chief Inspector Perry Benton, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “This is a tragic case that has left a family devastated. My thoughts remain with Peter’s family and friends as they come to terms with their grief.”
