Teen Stabbed to Death in Old Trafford Murder Shock
A 16-year-old boy has tragically been stabbed to death in Old Trafford, sparking a full murder investigation.
Stabbing Sparks Major Police Operation
Police raced to Norton Street just before 6pm on Thursday 9 September after reports of a stabbing. They found the teen injured by two unknown males. Despite paramedics’ frantic efforts, the boy died shortly after being rushed to hospital.
An active crime scene remains in place, with officers from the Major Incident Team leading the probe. No arrests have been made yet.
Multiple Crime Scenes Under Scrutiny
- A second scene on Upper Chorlton Road involves a vehicle believed linked to a collision and the stabbing. It’s currently under forensic examination.
- A third scene on Cross Street involves a collision between another vehicle and a pedestrian. Thankfully, the pedestrian’s injuries aren’t thought to be serious, but enquiries continue.
Police Plea to Public for Information
Detective Superintendent Danny Inglis said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this incredibly sad time. Specialist officers are supporting them. This is a horrific incident where a young man has lost his life. We’re following several lines of inquiry to uncover what happened and catch those responsible.”
“We know this happened at a time people were still out or heading home. We urge anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage to come forward—even if it seems minor.”
