Man Arrested for Terror Suspicions Before Flight
44-Year-Old Held Over Terror-Related Charges
A 44-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, 5 December, on terrorism-related suspicions. Police say he was caught with an article linked to terrorism and gathering information that could be useful for terror acts. The arrest falls under sections 57 and 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Detained at London Airport
The suspect was stopped before boarding a flight abroad. Officers detained him under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and took him to a London police station, where he remains in custody.
Right-Wing Links, No Public Danger
Authorities believe this arrest is connected to extreme right-wing ideology. It is unrelated to a separate arrest of a 26-year-old UK man on 3 December. Police confirm there’s no immediate threat to the public.

Commander Richard Smith from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command said: “This is the second terror arrest at this airport in a week. Though unconnected, it shows how alert we are at London’s airports and ports. Every day, officers work hard with partners to spot and stop potential threats. We urge the public to stay sharp and report suspicious activity.”
