Tragic Blaze Claims Life in Wapping House Fire
A man has tragically died after a fierce house fire tore through a mid-terraced home on Swedenborg Gardens, Wapping.
Firefighters Rescue One, Another Escapes
Fire crews rushed to the scene at 3.36pm, rescuing a man trapped on the ground floor. Another man managed to flee the property before firefighters arrived.
Both men received urgent treatment from ambulance crews on site before being rushed to hospital. Sadly, one of the men later died from his injuries.
Fire Under Control in Just Over an Hour
The blaze was brought under control by 4.50pm thanks to three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Shadwell, Whitechapel, and Bethnal Green stations.
Cause of Fire Still a Mystery
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service are investigating the cause of the deadly fire.
