Brutal Knife Attack in Herne Bay: Man Stabbed in Chest
Mark Edge, 53, from Victoria Park, Herne Bay, has been jailed for a savage knife attack that left a man fighting for his life in 2019.
Five Years Behind Bars for Stabbing
Edge admitted to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife. On Friday 4 February 2022, Canterbury Crown Court sentenced him to five years and four months.
Attack Sparked by Street Dispute
- The violent incident unfolded on Friday 29 March 2019 after a row between the victim and a boy known to Edge in Park Road.
- The victim fled to a friend’s house, but Edge and the boy tracked him down at Station Chine.
- Edge pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the chest before fleeing the scene.
The victim collapsed shortly after and was airlifted to a London hospital for life-saving treatment.
Police Warn Against Knife Carriage
“Edge’s actions were completely reckless, and it’s fortunate this wasn’t a far worse tragedy,” said Detective Constable Stacey Edwards, a kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="6076">Kent Police investigator.
