Man Busted in Parked Car with Stash of Fake IDs and Phones on Chantry Road

Suspicious Behaviour Sparks Police Stop

Just after 12.30pm on Tuesday 22 February 2022, officers on patrol noticed a man acting oddly in a parked car on Chantry Road. They approached on foot and questioned the lone occupant – a man in his 30s from Chatham.

Aggression and Arrest Follow

The suspect allegedly got verbally aggressive when spoken to. Police detained him for a search, uncovering a rucksack stuffed with multiple credit and bank cards, all in different names.

Phones, Drugs and More Charges

Alongside the fake IDs, cops also found several mobile phones. The man was arrested on suspicion of fraud, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance.

A follow-up search of his home revealed a haul of drugs, adding to his woes.

Man Bailed as Investigation Continues

He has been bailed and is due back at the station on 15 March while police dig deeper into the seized items.
