Drug Dealer Mazin Mohammed Jailed for 7½ Years in Bristol Bust
Mazin Mohammed, 28, was slammed with a hefty prison sentence at Bristol Crown Court today, Friday 11 March. The Claverham Road man admitted to possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply.
Public Tip-Off Leads to Major Drug Haul
Police swooped in December after a member of the public reported a suspected drug deal. Officers tracked the vehicle and raided Mohammed’s home, uncovering a massive stash of class A drugs. The haul was valued at a whopping £82,000 on the street.
Justice Served for Bristol Communities
Mohammed was initially handed 10 years behind bars, but the sentence was cut to seven years and six months thanks to his guilty plea.
“Mohammed was caught with a large quantity of class A drugs and in the face of overwhelming evidence had little option but to plead guilty,” said PC Louise Jones, who leads the team tackling drug crime.
“He sought to profit from the misery that drugs cause people and communities, and we welcome the custodial sentence he has today received.
“This arrest came directly from a member of the public reporting a suspected drug deal. We thank them for their vital role, enabling a swift police response, the seizure of drugs, and this conviction.
“We hope this outcome gives others the confidence to report drug crime and help clear Bristol’s streets of dealers.”
Police Crack Down on Dangerous Dealers
Drug crime devastates communities, especially targeting vulnerable people. The force has a dedicated team working with partners across the region and country to bring offenders like Mohammed to justice and make Bristol safer.
