Drink-Driver Crashes Alfa Romeo, Leaves Passenger Critically Injured

A young driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after smashing his Alfa Romeo into a tree last night. The car, carrying four passengers, crashed at around 11:30pm on Sandbeck, a country lane off Richmond Road between Catterick and Richmond.

One Passenger in Critical Condition

One of the passengers was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. The others were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The driver, a man in his 20s, blew over the legal alcohol limit and was also treated in hospital before being taken into custody.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

The Major Collision Investigation Team is urging anyone who saw the dark-coloured Alfa Romeo before the crash to come forward. They are also asking for any dashcam footage that could shed light on the moments leading up to the collision.
