Suspects Nabbed After Electric Cable Heist on A20
Police dog PD Biggy sniffed out two men linked to an alleged electric cable theft following a late-night car chase on Tuesday, 3 May 2022.
Suspicious Car Tailed and Abandoned
Officers spotted a Suzuki Grand Vitara cruising the A20 London Road and decided to follow. The vehicle was later found dumped nearby, loaded with large amounts of recently cut electric cabling believed stolen. Alongside the cables, police seized gloves, cutters, and a torch.
PD Biggy Tracks Down First Suspect
The police dog was brought in to track from the abandoned vehicle. Close by in a car park off Larkfield Road, officers found a 35-year-old man from Larkfield lying face down. He was promptly arrested on suspicion of theft, possessing tools for theft, and driving without insurance.
Second Suspect Caught with Knife
PD Biggy’s handler then located a second suspect in Wrotham. The 53-year-old man was arrested not only for the cable theft but also for carrying a knife in public after officers found a weapon in his car.
Both men have since been released pending further investigations.
