Man Arrested After Attempted Abduction of 10-Year-Old Boy at Football Cage

The alarm was raised on Friday evening (13 May) when a 10-year-old boy was approached by a stranger at a local football cage. Police were called at 9.59pm following reports the boy had been targeted between 8.45pm and 9pm at the Daisy Dip football cage on Laburnum Road.

Disturbing Incident at Local Football Cage

According to reports, the man tried to grab the boy’s hand and spoke to him inappropriately. Thankfully, the boy managed to escape unharmed and returned home safely. Authorities are now supporting the child and his family in the aftermath.

Suspect in Custody, Police Continue Investigation

Officers moved quickly and arrested a 37-year-old man from southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton on suspicion of assaulting a boy under 13. He remains in police custody. Cops say no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.
