Three Drug Dealers Locked Up After Medway Crackdown
Leesean Francis, Robert Downey, and Mohamud Salah have been sentenced to prison for their roles in distributing crack cocaine and heroin across Medway.
County Lines Drug Network Busted
The trio supplied class A drugs throughout the Medway towns but were caught following coordinated raids on 25 January 2022. Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team stormed addresses on Beckenham Road, Beckenham, and Magpie Hall Road, Chatham.
Francis, 22, was found inside the Beckenham property holding multiple mobile phones used to operate the ‘Dutch’ drug network. Downey and Salah were arrested at a house in Chatham, where officers also seized phones linked to drug dealing.
Evidence Piles Up Against Dealers
Salah, 21, was caught with 50 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin plus a large sum of cash. His phone revealed bulk marketing messages tied to the ‘Blacks’ drug network, showing he acted as a runner distributing drugs across Medway.
CCTV footage showed Downey dealing drugs near his home and Francis making several visits to the Beckenham address.
Sentences Delivered at Maidstone Crown Court
All three pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on 16 May. Francis received five years and eight months for supply offences.
Downey, 40, and Salah were jailed for two years and three months each. Downey admitted offering to supply heroin and crack cocaine, while Salah admitted possession with intent to supply and handling criminal property.
“This is a justified sentencing for three drug dealers who targeted vulnerable people across Medway,” said investigating officer John Carless.
“Drug dealing destroys lives and wrecks families. It blights communities and fuels anti-social behaviour. We will continue to work hard to disrupt drug networks across Kent and Medway.”
