Burglar Busted in Gillingham: Charged with 10 Offences
A suspected burglar has been hit with 10 charges after a string of break-ins rocked Gillingham in April.
Multiple Burglaries in South Avenue and The Chase
On the night of 12 April, thieves struck multiple homes in South Avenue. Two cars were stolen right off a driveway, while a designer coat was nabbed from a porch. Residents at two other nearby houses—one in South Avenue and another in The Chase—reported attempted break-ins.
Another Theft Shakes Grange Road
Just a week later, on 19 April, two more cars were stolen from a property in Grange Road after burglars forced open the front door and grabbed the car keys. Police say the theft happened overnight.
Suspect Caught and Charged
kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police have charged 23-year-old Cobaine Holden from Littlehampton, West Sussex, with a slew of offences:
- 3 counts of burglary
- 2 counts of attempted burglary
- 4 counts of motor vehicle theft
- 1 count of possession of a bladed weapon in public
Holden appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 13 June and was granted bail. He’s set to face Maidstone Crown Court on 13 July 2020.
